Cold Rolling

Cold rolling is a critical process where aluminium thickness is reduced at room temperature to achieve precise dimensions and enhanced mechanical properties.

Using advanced rolling mills such as 6-Hi CVC (Continuous Variable Crown) systems, aluminium coils are passed through multiple rolling stages. This process improves flatness, strength, and surface quality while maintaining tight dimensional tolerances.

Process Overview

  • Uncoiling of cast or hot-rolled aluminium
  • Multiple rolling passes (rough, intermediate, finish)
  • Thickness reduction with high precision
  • Surface refinement and flatness control

Key Technologies

  • 6-Hi CVC rolling mills for hard alloys
  • Stressometers for flatness measurement
  • Hot-edge spray systems for shape control
  • Feed-forward thickness control systems

Advantages

  • High dimensional accuracy
  • Improved strength and hardness (work hardening)
  • Superior surface quality
  • Suitable for automotive, aerospace, and industrial applications
